It is another beautiful day in the gaming neighborhood. I hope you brought your bulletproof vest with you because we are talking about a MMO game that just may take over the online, shoot’em up, rob everyone you see, start riots, kill everyone game that is just mind blowing and really gets you wanting to do bad. APB (All Points Bulletin) is a game that is coming out on PC and just seems to know how to answer the calling of a gamer.
This game has it all from customization, to tagging the streets, to being able to pick up random missions, to not having to wait in a room all day to play a game. WHAT?! NO WAITING?! That is right. This game is a no wait zone my friends. Wanna play? Sign in and get in.
Another great thing about this is game is the size of the players you can play with. You can play up to 20 vs 20 for a 40 player explosive action game. If your team is out numbered and is getting the crapped kicked out of you, you can call in for back-up. The computer sees that you are getting man handled and allows you to get a little help.
It is great because if you are a bad guy, and you go and cause some trouble and get caught by someone watching, they call out a APB against you. This alert will get sent to all the local players that are playing with the “good guys” and then the hunt begins. Anyone that gets the message across their screen will now be on your tail and looking to get you and your team.
The custumization is something like I have never seen before. The attention to detail from giving your player a tat to adding masks, gear, hair detail change, to every little thing you want to change. And if you are not good with custimization you player or just don’t want to take the time to do it, they already have preset options you can chose from.
With this game having hopes to be released by the end of this year, it has no signs of falling short. Stay on the look out for more on APB and stay up to date with what is going on with ha!
Well good morning gaming world. I kno I kno. You all are like, “Mr.showtime, what happened to the coverage of the PAX yesterday. I waited all day long to hear a post about how great the gaming experience was and how PAX took over Boston.” Well, we kinda got in late and to tell you the truth….WE WERE BEAT!!!! But, besides that it has been a great convention so far. All I have to say is, NVidia “Cranked that S#!T Up”! Nvidia by far took over the show with their amazing 3d glasses and amazing 2 graphic cards they uncovered to the world. A little jealous I wasn’t one of the 2 people that got to walk away with a free one (*sniff sniff), the specs are outstanding. With the processor on one of the cards runs faster then 4 Intel quad core 7I cpus, this thing really cranks. They showed us the power of what it could really do with a demo game of a test subject getting blasted across a railroad track strapped to a rocket. If that isn’t fun to watch then I don’t know what is. What the demo showed was the try physics of what the card could handle. We will get into more of the specs of what the cards can do during our 1st web show this week. Other then NVidia, there where some other really good stations. EA sports had a setup of one of there soon to be released titles APB. This game looked very well put together. Giving a very brief description of what the game is, it deals with the all time favorite Cops and Robbers on crack. This game is everything we want in a GTA like online multi-player game. The attention to detail in this game so far is amazing. We didn’t get a chance to get our hands on it yesterday but we will today, we will. There is so much more things that are going on here, but I will not put it all on this blog. We will be back later on through the day with specs, release dates, pics, and many more things to give you all the info you need. Sorry to give you such little detail but yesterday was a crazy crazy crazy day and will blast this board through out the day because I did bring my laptop with me today and will provide you with so much stuff it will make your head spin. So, stay tuned through out the day and I will grace you with holiness. This is Mr.Showtime signing off for now.
Good morning my gaming people. This is day 2 of Mr.Showtime and yes…..I am still here. That is right, nobody has kicked me out yet. Well, let get into it. I woke up this am with a topic on my mind. Modding. There seems to be ALOT of mixed feelings about it. Is it good, is it bad, is it completely ruining the world of video games as we know it? Read the rest of this entry »
Whats going on all my fellow gamers???!!! This is Mr.Showtime coming at ya, and if you don’t know who I am, I’m the new blood on the team. I’m full of energy and ready to go. There is good reason for that too, but I will get into it in a bit. First and foremost I want to send out some thanks. First, a big thanks to my BFF (that’s right people I said BFF), Vendetta. Good looks on putting the word about the skills to the right people and getting Mr.Showtime out there. Secondly, I want to send out a big time thanks to my dude Mortal. Wanna thank you brother for giving me a chance to get this thing going and get the video game community buzzing. And I want to send one last HUGE thanks to the Fam. You know who you all are. Blood and non-Blood alike. Alright, lets get into this. Read the rest of this entry »
Assasssin’s Creed 2 is the sandbox-style action adventure sequel to Assassin’s Creed. It is set to be released worldwide on November 17, 2009 on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Not since Mortal Kombat’s “Fatalities” have I been excited about multiple options of destruction immediately following my domination of other players. We’re all familiar with the killstreak loadout in COD4; 3 kills gets you UAV, 5 kills gets you an airstrike, and 7 consecutive kills will get the ever powerful helicopter. From the looks of this one minute, 22 second video clip, there will be much more than 3 killstreak awards. More importantly, you can unlock the ability to launch your own pattern of awards. The award focus in this video is the AC-130, which is a slow moving, low flying plane that drops bombs precisely where you ask it to, with the help from a laptop or portable GPS screen that the player looks at on the fly. So no more dropping to one knee and your whole screen turning into map-mode to chose where to drop your airstrikes. I’ll be waiting patiently for Infinity Ward to release more multiplayer screen shots so we all can see the other killstreak awards. If there are Babalities, I might call this the best game ever made before even playing.
Empire was an interesting novel written, somewhat ironically, by Orson Scott Card that has an interesting premise. It muses upon the possibility of America plunged into a second civil war created by the vacuum of power left by the assassination of the President of the United States, as well as several of his closest colleagues. The stakes are high as the nation cannot withstand such a gaping wound for long, and the Restoration immediately makes move to wrest power from the right-wingers that occupy the office at the time of the attack. At one point during the novel, it compares the United States to the Roman Empire in its scope from its prominence to its inevitable decline where it becomes crushed under its own gravity. Oddly enough it is a conspiracy of mammoth proportions that destroys the country and centralizes power in the hands of one man, Averell Torrent. However, we know that this series is a trilogy, and we also know that Shadow Complex doesn’t take place in the events of the first book. So what happens after Mr. Torrent sits upon his perch of infinite power? Does he do right by the people? Does the Restoration become disbanded after its attempted and failed coup? Let’s put it this way, Jason Fleming of the Shadow Complex would be stretched out on a beach somewhere enjoying Hennessy and Coke with his better half and none of us would give a shit about August 19th, 2009.
When I was still in grade school I developed this weird fascination with the world of Greek mythology. This likely as a result of watching Clash of the Titans when I was still a wee lad but it left such an impression on me I felt compelled to read these stories of bickering gods and the quests that they would charge mere mortals to endure. Some of the most memorable stories that I can recall have dealt with the everlasting punishment exacted upon the unfortunate few from the gods. Prometheus was chained to a mountain where he was doomed to have his liver pecked out daily as it would forever regenerate so his pain would only be perpetuated as the sun set and then rose again. Atlas was forever destined to bear the weight of the world on his shoulders. Pandora and her wretched box (no pun intended) was sent to punish mankind for being in league with the bringer of light. Yet it is Sisyphus that reminds me most of the frustration that World at War players are experiencing. Now I don’t have an exact number of individuals that have been stricken with this most annoying bug but it would be Sisyphus who can empathize with these unfortunate players. You see, he was supposed to roll a boulder to the top of a mountain, and after the arduous deed was done, he would watch in tired horror as it rolled back down to the bottom as if he did nothing all day. He also suffered from the compulsion to try, try again…. see where I’m going with this?
What is it about World War II that compels us to pick up the controller for the umpteenth time to resume our imaginary hostilities towards the Germans, in this case the Japanese? Perhaps war was more simple then where the technology was only advanced enough where the killers saw the white of their prey’s eyes before sending them to hell for their audacity to stand. Battlefield 1943 puts you in the thick of this mayhem and it does this all the while making you forget that you only paid fifteen dollars to witness it. The latest downloadable game from Electronic Arts is a throwback to the original Battlefield 1942 in that the maps are preserved from its predecessor but it also makes it current by making employing some current conventions as you will see…
