Battlefield: Bad Company
Now, I’m aware this may be old news to many but with the recently reduced price tag I was surprised to find a thriving online community and a more than decent campaign. Sleepy heads and penny pinchers should find this game well worth the investment. All your Call Of Duty 4 needs are met and ups the ante with (almost) fully destructive environments that are sure to keep them sneaky campmiesters in check. Plus the sh*ts pretty funny! The word around the water cooler is that FREE downloadable content is coming out this spring for Left 4 Dead. That’s great … but … one of the main components of the DLC is something that should have been included in the full retail version on day one. It unlocks the two campaign missions, Dead Air and Death Toll for play in multiplayer.
The DLC also include a new mode called Survival Mode, which sound a lot like Horde Mode. Players attempt to survive endless hordes of zombies on at least 12 maps. That sounds awesome. I just hope Valve does better players support for 360 L4D players than it did for 360 TF2 players. People who Played Team Fortress 2 on the PC got new weapons, achievements, levels, and play modes. 360 owners are still waiting.

Last week during an Activision In-Game Ad Conference, they let it be known, that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is official in development. We all knew it was a given, but it’s nice to know its official. I wonder when the beta test is gonna be?

Playing in a sandbox might seem like child’s play but thats hardly the case with the new map “Sandbox” coming out for Halo 3. Sandbox is part of the mythic map pack. How many maps will come on the new Halo 3: ODST when the game ships later this year? I’m glad you asked. 24. Twenty Four. This gem of info comes courtesy of the Bungie weekly update:
Just some minor housekeeping this week. We wanted to address an oft-asked, but pertinent question about the Halo 3 Multiplayer content that will ship with Halo 3: ODST this Fall. All twenty-four Halo 3 Multiplayer maps will be in the box. All shipping maps: The Heroic Map Pack, The Legendary Map Pack, Cold Storage, The Mythic Map Pack, and three brand new exclusive maps are included.

The answer to the question would be … Yes! Atmon, a community developer over at the official Far Cry 2 / UBI Soft forums, posted about a new mode called “Hardcore Mode” that will be made available for Far Cry 2 after its next title update. Anyone who plays Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3 should be familiar with the concept of Hardcore mode. The multiplayer in this game is one of the most slept on multiplayer of 2008. Time to wake up. Looks like all my complaining about losing my gold has paid off. Word comes straight from big dog Rod Fergusson, Executive Producer and Super Moderator from the official Gears of War 2 forum. He say they are high level talks to change the ranking system for GOW2. The new ranking system would be an experience based rank instead of a “true skill” rank. Sounds great. It would grade you on your personal performance instead of your teams performance. Personally I think the current ranking is system is beyond borked. I had the third golden rank and I lost is in a NON-Ranked match. Really? Really? anyway. All I need is this and dedicated servers and I will be a happy camper . Read the rest of this entry »

I know it’s old but i wanted to post it anyway. When I saw (heard) this video a while back, it made me think, damn I wish I had my own video games blog so I could post this video. So now I do, so hear it is. The audio from this video is made from actual in game audio. I have said it before and I will say it here. User created content is great. I know this type of humor panders to the lowest common denominator, but hey that’s the way to get the biggest audience … I guess.
